Pointe a la Croix (Point of the Cross) Site and Trail

This historic site was established by hunters and fishermen in 1550 as a spot for degreasing whales, porpoises and other large game.

In 1723, missionaries erected a large metal cross which still stands there today. Today, this site is designed for relaxation and picnics; you can make detailed observations of marine mammals of all kinds, sometimes very close. Connected to the Point is a 10.1-km out-and-back trail that offers incredible views of the local forest and seaside.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 25 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, running, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of the day. Be sure to experience the stunning natural vistas that this path has to offer.
